XP Home behind a firewall.
(B
(BI tried installing from a limited user account to my user folder. However, I kept getting "Download of nodeconfig [or any other file for that matter] failed: Retry?". Seeing as how this is the installation itself, I cannot play around with any settings to fix this issue. Why do you need an internet connection to install the program? Why not just bundle the files required? As it now stands, I cannot install Freenet's software to my computer.
(B
(BI have also tried installing under the admin account.
(B
(BIf it's the firewall, then WHY does the software need ports forwarded just to install?!?!
(B
(BThank you, and I hope that this issue can be resolved in some way for me, as I'm probably doing something wrong. I would have checked the previous digests, but I saw no search feature, and I did not want to manually go through however many files (read: a lot) there are of archives to see if maybe it had my problem solved.
(B
(BThank you, and I really hope I sound more like someone who tried to solve the problem themselves rather than some rude noob.
