Ah, yes.  I've seen "virtual dedicated server" and "private server",
and now that I think about it, I remember seeing "root server" used in
this way.  I think I disprefer "root server", myself, because of the
already-in-use meaning: i.e. the DNS top dogs.

As a matter of fact...  I'm using gmail, and the three advertisements
are for DNS stuff, while the two "related sites" are about the ISC
updating its DNS servers.
