Yes, adding extra RAM would help avoid the badly named "Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low" message. With more physical memory, Windows should require a *smaller* swap space. It only creates more swap space when it runs out of physical memory and the swap space it has. In fact, that's what the message means. More RAM would help for Freenet as well as everything else you run. What all are you running when you get this message? How much of your memory is being used by Freenet? You could also kill everything else you can. System tray applications eat memory. Services eat memory. A good guide to services is here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm Another possibility, if you have enough disk space, is to change virtual memory from its defaults. The default will allow you up to 1536 MB of swap. You could put it there to begin with, and then Windows doesn't need to dynamically change it, and you don't get the problems noted in the message, i.e. "During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied." Not to mention that changing swap size uses memory itself. -todd _______________________________________________ Support mailing list [email protected] http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://dodo.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
