I managed now after 3 hours of hard work to install suns newest java,
everything else is also on newest version.
I also set the memory-usage to 50 MB in start-freenet.sh (because this is a
very old PC), but I still get that error that it couldn't lock the lockfile and
it crashes a few seconds after the CPUID-Libraries have been loaded, when there
are running about 14 java-threads.
Here the error-message again (sorry but I can't see the very right side of it):
Jun 7, 2005 1:19:07 PM (freenet.node.Main, main, NORMAL): Starting Freenet
(Fred) 0.5 node, build #5102 on JVM Sun Microsyste$
Jun 7, 2005 1:19:11 PM (freenet.node.Node, main, ERROR): Encountered an
unexpected error when locking the lockfile '/freenet/$
java.io.IOException: Value too large for defined data type
at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.lock0(Native Method)
at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.tryLock(Unknown Source)
at java.nio.channels.FileChannel.tryLock(Unknown Source)
at freenet.node.Node.init(Node.java:3591)
at freenet.node.Main.main(Main.java:476)
Couldn't I try to comment out some line in some conf-file, so that freenet
doesn't use a lock-file? Its really a shame, after all that hours of work!
By the way, I would really be glad if there would be a translation of freenet
in an other language, I start to hate all that java-thread-mess...
