I cannot figure out how to force it use Chrome.
(I would expect a configuration option for this on
Freenet Tray. I have tried a number of searches, none of which
pan out.) Is there a way?

No, not at present. However you can create a shortcut which opens Chrome in incognito
mode pointing to http://127.0.0.1:8888/ . chrome -incognito <url> or something.

It would be handy, this option.
I know there's critical stuff to be worked on, the invalid metadata problem, but allow me to request the feature for calmer times, Matthew.

Currently I use K-meleon for Freenet, which essentially is a stripped down Firefox because it also uses gecko. Cache pointing to an encrypted partition, no javascript and Flash, default location http://127.0.0.1:8888/.

I don't trust the google browser because google is so hellbent on registering ALL about me. What to think of them promising me to be incognito...
