Freenet 0.7.5 build 1396 is now available, please upgrade, it will be mandatory on Tuesday. This build makes the request timeouts depend on the HTL (i.e. the number of hops remaining before the request is terminated even if it doesn't find anything). Thanks to ArneBab for helping me to understand this and NLM. Freenet 0.5 had a similar mechanism, although it was a bit more complex because of some stats. This is not necessary in 0.7 with its two-stage timeouts.
Please report any problems or performance regressions. If there is no major disruption I plan to release NLM on Monday or Tuesday. There may be a temporary performance problem during the few hours when most nodes have not yet upgraded. This should resolve itself. If it doesn't, let me know.
