Hi,

10.6 will be impossible going forward as Java 7 is going to be required to run
Freenet in the immediate future, and the minimum requirement to install Oracle
Java 7 is OS X 10.7.3.

There’s nothing else preventing Freenet itself from working, however our
installer/menu bar app is designed for OS X 10.8 and won’t actually run on
earlier versions, so installing a NEW node on 10.7.x would require some very
minor manual work (basically copy the install files from inside our installer,
edit 2-3 lines in the setup script and run it).

If you’re able to run 10.8 on your hardware I would highly recommend doing so,
as even 10.7 is completely unsupported for security patches by Apple (and
Google Chrome too, as of next month).

If you would still like help getting a node running on 10.7.x feel free to stop
by our IRC chat room[0] and say hi, I would be happy to help :)
