Announcement is working, including connecting to initial seednodes. We don't have any automated way of gathering seednodes yet. There are a couple of largish bugs in the deployed code which cause announcements to bounce around the network indefinitely; fortunately, the deployed code doesn't actually make announcement requests. The trunk code will out of the box announce itself to randomly chosen nodes in its seednodes.fref (if there is one) until it has 10 opennet peers (if opennet is enabled).
So, we need: - Yet another mandatory (1089). Sorry folk. - A list of public seednodes. If a few people with static IPs/dyndns and opennet would send me their noderefs, we can build a temporary seednodes.fref from that. In the longer term, the node will detect if you are eligible to be a seednode, ask if you want to be one, and if so upload regularly to a server on emu. - To bundle this list with the node. In conclusion: the end of #freenet-refs is nigh, finally! -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
