I am running freenet (ubuntu 8.04) on one box with no open ports, and also running freenet on another box with most of the ports mentioned in freenet opened - both boxes appears to run fine.
I am using "Firestarter" as my "firewall" as I find it easy to use, only. Now my question, is it necessary to have any ports open in order for freenet to work best?
