(Updated copy of message from dev list)

Hi all

I'm ready with the first alpha of the new native Windows installer I've
been working on. It would be very cool if some of the Windows people
here would make a test install and write back with feedback.

Basically, everything needs testing. Installer, start/stop scripts,
launcher and uninstaller. Spelling/wording/grammar corrections are
welcome too (English isn't my native language, so chances are I've made
several mistakes in that area!). Please also write back with anything in
the process that seems unintuitive. Feel free to challenge it by
installing an old version of Java first or installing the node on an SD
card or weird stuff like that.

I've only tested it on Windows XP and Vista myself, so especially 2000
and 2003 tests are much appreciated. I'd be surprised if everything
works out-of-the-box on those systems.

Keep in mind that this is alpha software. While I've done my best to
make it bulletproof, I could obviously have made mistakes at some point.
(Please find them! ;)). Multiple concurrent installations are supported,
but if an installation with the current Java installer is detected, it
will ask you to uninstall it first.

Source is available in trunk/apps/wininstaller @ SVN for those who like to
compile themselves.

Compiled binary is available at
http://privat.zero3.dk/FreenetInstaller.exe for the rest of us.
