VPN should not be significantly different from the unprotected access that
is protected only by the FileMaker passwords in terms of speed (maybe a
little slower or need a faster processor because of the encryption.) Of
course there are likely to be configuration problems. Currently not all VPNs
can talk to all other VPNs because of interoperability issues of the
underlying protocol, IPSEC. These are being ironed out, but they are not
plug and play yet. I think these are mostly key management issues.
