We went from Access to ebase about 1.5 years ago and we are very happy with the switch
because:
* Ebase includes just about every feature a typical non-profit like us needs (and
we're just using version 1.0)
* Ebase is quick & easy to modify; no programming required
* We do not have to pay big bucks for an Access programmer to make changes
* We do not have to wait for an Access programmer to code & debug their changes
* The ebase listserve support is superb, quick and free
* Ebase is being actively upgraded to even better meet our needs
* Ebase upgrades are free
* Ebase is easily networked
* FileMaker Inc. has an active donation program (we got 4 copies of FMPro donated)
FWIW
Does your boss want to go back to Access because you want your database networked?
FMPro allows for easy networking of ebase (as I'm writing this, we have 5
people simultaneously using our ebase; 4 in VA, 1 in San Diego). Are you using the
runtime version of ebase or is it riding on top of FMPro?
