Haven't heard from anyone who uses ebase specifically for schools,
but it seems to me that interests and skills fields are present, in
the activist area. They are present to track volunteer activities,
but it sounds similar.

This might be a bit tricker. A really simple method would be to
maintain records for both parents and add a field for the student's
name.
