Thanks for the clarification.
I just tested Eudora 5.0 on my Mac, and it works just like Eudora Lite 3.13 did. As long as it is set as the default email client (using Internet Config), you can send email from ebase, including personalized messages. And I used the version that you can download at http://www.eudora.com/products/eudora/download/. It was free.

Just to summarize/clarify...
Qualcomm no longer makes a separate product called "Eudora Light" (or "Eudora Pro" for that matter). Beginning with version 5.0, there's a single product, "Eudora 5," which can be installed in one of three modes. The modes are:
"Light" - free, limited feature set, no ads.
"Sponsored" - free, full feature set, ads
"Paid" - not free, full feature set, no ads.
Modes can be switched on the fly at any time, after downloading. Full details are, of course, at http://www.eudora.com.
While I haven't tested it, there's no reason to think that any of these modes wouldn't work just as well with ebase as any previous version of Eudora (Light or Pro) does.
best,
jon

I'm still using Eudora Pro 4.3 (never used lite) instead of v. 5 but from other lists I read, it appears that Eudora now has a 'free version" which carries advertising and a paid version which does not. Without checking, I think you can make the choice when you download the software.
It looks like Eudora Lite (3.1.3 was the last version I saw) is no longer available on the www.eudora.com site. News to me.
Has anyone tested Eudora 5.0 on the Mac to see if it works as an email client for ebase? I don9t like the advertising strategy (that9s why it9s free), so I don9t use it.
