Assuming you have nothing in the last name field you want to keep,
you can do it with two applications of the FileMaker "Replace"
command.
- back up the file set to go back to if you do something wrong.
- make sure all records are in the found set (Find All button)
- click into the last name field
- Choose the script FMPro REPLACE Command from the Scripts menu
- Choose the button for Calculated replace
- In the calculation dialog box enter the middle name field.
- click ok.
Repeat the above steps for the middle name field, but replace it with
blank text (enter "" into the calculation box).
