Can you tell me how run a query to generate reports
First, I should say that queries are used to find records that
match a set of criteria. You can create layouts to produce the report
you want using that found set of records.
the represent an overview of our membership giving history and demographics.
Fields containing data on giving history and demographics are
present in ebase and can be used on a report layout.
If this request requires to much time, can you at least tell me where to retrieve a step by step guide into doing this request. I supposedly have the Ebase Admin. Manual, but I'm having trouble finding what section answers my question.
You're not providing enough information to give step-by-step
instructions. For example, what do you mean by "overview of
membership history and demographics". Have a look at the
FileMaker manual on working with layouts to find more detail on
setting up a layout that generates the report you want. I'd suggest
making a sketch of the report you want. Be very specific about what
piece of information you want where. For example, "giving
history" isn't useful. You should specify "last year's total
$ donations", "2 yrs ago donations", etc.
