I'm not any kind of a Mac person, but nobody else seems to have picked this up, so I'll take a couple of shots in the dark anyhow.
Not to insult your intelligence or anything, but you mention various Excel "plug-ins."  Do you know for a fact that you actually have the Excel product itself installed on that machine?  All the support add-ins in the world won't help you if you don't have the base product.

Other possibility that comes to mind:  list was being "sent to you".  If this was an FTP transmittal and the sender failed to specify 'binary' mode, then what you would get is an Ascii interpretation, probably with linefeeds stuck in, which would be totally useless to Excel.

Just things that struck me as possibilities.  Hope one of them is useful.

HI:

I am getting a list of contacts sent to me in excel.  For some reason I
can't open or translate Excel document on my Mac.  I have the Excel Plug-in
in my Extension file, as well as other excel plug-ins in my systems
extension file, nothing works.  Do you have any suggestions?
