One possibility: If a record is entered as anything other than "Ind"
under the <<Record Type>> field, envelopes and labels can print out
oddly, usually leaving out the person's name. This can be changed if
you have Filemaker by changing the fields on the envelope layout. Go to
Home, enter layout mode, navigate to the envelope #10 layout, and place
the Name Line/Label>> field onto the layout on the first line. Add
other fields (Position, Bus/Org., etc.) as needed, then play with
printing a few envelopes. You may want to leave labels alone, unless
they are printing with the Bus/Org. line twice.
Record number gaps are OK. Filemaker assigns unique new record numbers
each time you add a record, and it doesn't re-use old record numbers.
This is good in case related files have data associated with that record
number, not yet deleted, which doesn't belong to the new person.
Besides, there's no shortage of numbers...
