Laura,

Upgrading can be a bit tricky depending on how you do it. Presuming
you've already brought in your data (names, payments, etc.), you will
need to make sure that all the records have the proper corresponding
records in the Summary, Custom, Profile files. To do this, run the
"Check for Related Records" script under the script menu. This will
find AND correct any records that don't have the proper related
records. It could be problematic to add new records before doing this,
so run it right away. Once that's done, you shouldn't have this
problem.

If you used the ebase import routine to upgrade, you shouldn't have this
problem anyway, but if you used the Filemaker import routine, that's
probably where you got into trouble. Thus far you shouldn't have
created any serious problems, but it's worth a check.

Run the above script, then try some modifications of record data and see
if this works. Finally, spot check your database for errors (esp. with
payments, contact records or other data that doesn't live in the names
file. If it checks out ok, you should be fine for adding new data. If
not, get back to the list.
