The Date Added fields in the date base are autoenter fields with today's
date. If you want to use some other date in a field and enter it yourself
then just put in a new field called Date Something that does not have any
other properties associated with it.
Small warning: Data entry people frequently fail to enter date fields like
that. You can make it a required entry to force them to enter a date but
typing dates is slow (and at least I never know what today's date is).
