That's the way it's supposed to work. If it's an Indiv. you are mailing
to, the name line should be that person's name. If it's an org, the
proper addressing tends to be to that org (e.g. if the mailing is for
either a newsletter or a membership solicitation). That's why it's
designed the way it is. This convention breaks down if you have an
individual in your database who you correspond with re: messages
specific to that individual. But in that case, you should probably have
the record entered as a record type of Ind anyway (keep a separate
record for the organization if you need to contact the org in a
different way).
If you are just interested in the line on the Home and Data Entry
screens, you could replace the <<Name Line/Org>> field with the <<Name
Line/Label>> field. But then, if you have records without a name in the
<<Name Line>> field (e.g. an organization or business with no contact
name in the record), then nothing will appear. In that case, you'd also
need the <<Business/Organization>> field on that line on those screens,
but there's limited real estate on which to locate these fields. I
think the way ebase works is probably best...
