In FileMaker, the Replace menu item is only available when the current password has the correct permissions. The password must allow editing and must be set for "normal" menus. Anything less won't work. The ebase master password allows this. Also in ebase, there is a Replace command script available from the Scripts menu which works for any password. But, in either case, in order to perform a Replace: 1. you must be in Browse Mode 2. the cursor must be in the field being replaced 3. it can't be a Global field (no need to replace, since there's only one value) 4. it can't be a Calculated field (not modifiable, since it's created only by a formula) There are several fields in ebase which are intentionally displayed as calculated fields in order to prevent modification. They are set to equal another (modifiable) field, which is not displayed. Usually, there is a reason for this and they should be left alone. If you really need to modify one of these fields, you must locate the non-calculated field that they mimic, and perform the Replace on that field. Don't do this unless you fully understand what you're doing. Replace is a powerful, useful command, but can also do much damage. It can't be undone. It's a good idea to run a backup before using it.
