Not sure, but I do know that excel treats zip codes as numbers and
strips the zero off the front end for zip codes beginning with a zero.
Are your problem records from the northeast where those zip codes are
found?
If you tell excel to display the number as a zip code, it will add that
zero where it encounters numbers that are only 4 digits long, but I
believe it still treats it as a number. I don't recall if excel can
change that "feature" or if you can export to a tab-delimited file to
then import into ebase. Alternatively, if this is your problem you
could probably have filemaker find the problem zips and correct the
problem by adding a zero to the front end.
