For one of my clients we set up an extra Gift Type field which contains, among other
things, Gift Membership (which is what the person who bought the gift gets) and Comp
(which is what the recipient gets). We redid the membership fields so that Gift
Membership payments don't activate a membership (and hence don't get renewal notices.)
