The problem was two-fold:
1) They were running multi-user, with the ebase files on a host
computer. The host computer was not opening all of the ebase files (see my
prior post as to how to correct this).
2) They were not using the "Hosts" dialog to open subsequent ebase sessions
from other computers. Instead, they were directly accessing the files
through "Network Neighborhood".
To solve the first problem, I talked Jessica through modifying the "800a -
Open ebase a Files" script per my prior posting.
To solve the second problem, I showed her how to open ebase using the
"Hosts" dialog. I explained to her the need to set the drive on the host
machine to "Not Shared". It's not good enough to set the folder to "Not
Shared" if the drive is set up as "Shared". At least that's been my
experience.
I didn't have her do this, since it could certainly affect other users. I
advised her to have her network guru do this after investigating any
impacts on other users.
