It sounds like your ebase is damaged, had some customization that went
wrong, or a botched "upgrade" to using .102 with FileMaker 5.

First a nag - We do not support the use of the FileMaker "Restore" command.
The FileMaker developer community has identified problems with this process.
We strongly suggest using your LAST GOOD BACKUP should you encounter a
situation where FileMaker asks you to use "Restore".

But Given you for some reason cannot go back to that last backup and have
used restore...

ebase does not use any files with the extension .fp3 So any call to
'deleted_.fp3' is not a designed by ebase function. This indicates a serious
problem if you have not modified ebase to add this file.

* If you have had customizing done to your ebase - check with the programmer
who did the customizing about what "deleted.fp3" is and where to get a new
copy.
* If you have not customized ebase to add a file deleted.fp3 this indicates
that one or more processes in ebase have been damaged ether by the Restore
process or by your subsequent attempts to get ebase working after your
"Crash and Restore".

If you have recently "updated" your .102 to work with FileMaker Five and
these problems started after that "update", You may have gotten the file
names wrong during the conversion to FileMaker 5 file format. If that is the
case - your best bet is to go back to the last backup of your original
FileMaker 4 version prior to the "update" and be very careful to maintain
the correct ebase file names for the new FileMaker 5 files (Spaces in file
names count- so after your let FileMaker 5 rename the original file to
"old", use quotes to force keeping the exact names in the conversion
dialog - such as "names.102").

The alternate plan to going back to going back to a "pre-FileMaker 5"
backup, might be to download ebase.103 and follow the instructions in the
.103 manual for migrating your data. This may be the best answer if you do
not have a heavily customized ebase as you would then end up with a solid,
new, designed for FileMaker 5, version of the software.
