There are no detail instructions on restoring because it depends so
much on how you make the backup - using backup software such as
Retrospect, archiving a copy with Stuffit or Winzip, or just making a
copy.

Here's a quick summary...

First, copy your damaged file set to some safe place such as a zip
disk or a different location on your hard drive (you might need them
yet, if you are not able to restore the files).

If you make backups with software such as Retrospect, follow the
instructions in your documentation for restoring.

If you have archived a copy of your ebase files with Stuffit (Mac) or
WinZip (Windows),
- copy the archive file to your hard drive,
- unpack the entire set of ebase files (the menu item will be called
Extract, Unstuff, or something like that)
- replace the entire ebase folder which contains the damaged file
with the set you have just unstuffed.

If you back up by simply copying your ebase directory onto the zip disk,
- replace the entire ebase folder which contains the damaged file
with the set from your zip disk backup.

In any case, you must replace the entire file set, not just the
ebase.103 file or the damaged names file.
