I wrote a few weeks ago that TechRocks is organizing a training tour to
introduce ebase 2.0 for FileMaker to the ebase community. All the details
are now in place and here's the formal announcement! We're really excited
about ebase 2.0, the training tour, and starting the community review
process of the public beta (preview) version. I hope that many of you will
be able to take part in the trainings or the reception/demos, or both!

There are a number of things we might need help with in each location
(getting the word out, identifying reasonable hotels for out-of-towners,
check-in at the beginning of the trainings, etc.). If anyone is interested
in offering some assistance, please send me an email. We would much
appreciate the help!

I'll be out on vacation this week - Sept 10-14 - so it will be the following
week before I'll be able to answer any questions or get back to any local
volunteers.

Thanks,
Liz

ebase 2.0 for FileMaker Training Tour (Fall 2001)

Introductory Workshops, Train-the-Trainer Training, Reception/Demos in Five
Cities
****************************************************************

The release of the preview (public beta) version of ebase 2.0 for
FileMaker--due out on September 30, 2001--marks a milestone in the evolution
of ebase, the affordable and powerful database designed for nonprofit
groups.

We are heralding the preview release with the October launch of the Training
Tour for ebase 2.0 for FileMaker. Let the community training and review
process begin!

The Training Tour will include hands-on workshops for nonprofit staff and
for ebase consultants, trainers and developers. These workshops will expand
the opportunity for your involvement, as ebase community members, in the
on-going development of ebase.

Nonprofit staff attending the introductory class will have an opportunity to
learn about how ebase can work for their organizations, as well as provide
an important voice in prioritizing additional searching and reporting
capabilities in ebase 2.0 for FileMaker. Consultants, trainers, and
developers will participate in discussions about add-on modules, community
development of code and training materials, and the coordination of
individual roles in the development process.

The trainings will give everyone a rock-solid foundation in the basics of
ebase 2.0 for FileMaker *and* the opportunity to help shape ebase's future
development.

See workshop descriptions below:
