Eric's list is great! right on.
If these folks will be doing some data entry, I'd add at least one more
thing and that is to have, maintain and train people in using a "Data Entry
Style Sheet." This isn't really an 'ebase technology' guide but it will
make searching for information much simpler, among other things, and the
easier you make it to use ebase the less likely you are to experience
technical difficulties.
The style sheet would include such things as "always abbreviate address info
(or don't) and if so, do it this way: Ave, St, etc..." OR do we or don't
we use punctuation in addresses, do we use Av for avenue or Ave; is it all
caps or not. Define the best you can what you'll use each flag for. And
the current version of ebase can be quite ambiguous with its flags (e.g.
does newsletter check box mean this person gets a newsletter or doesn't if
its checked???).
Anyway, just clarify in advance for folks how to answer some basic questions
about what goes where and in what form. good luck - Ted
