The ebase manual offers two options for changing contact flag data. I would like to change these to reflect performing arts interests for names in my database. As the main window for entering data, it seems like the most convenient place to put them, but I don't really understand the issues involved in changing them.
So, two questions. The first is whether anyone can give me a good reason why I shouldn't change contact flags to reflect interests (e.g. Strings concerts vs Brass). The second is how to actually do it. What I've done is just go into layout mode and change the label. My two options as described in the manual, however, appear to be either creating NEW fields identical in format to the contact flags, but not the contact flags, OR to delete the contact flags and replace them with a single Value List. Does anyone have some experience with this who can recommend a good approach?
