I had a similar problem, I don't know if this will help any. Whenever I use the delete button, I get an illegal operation error and ebase shuts down also. I think I got the script message too, but mostly I remember getting a names file problem and a "use restore" instruction- which I DID NOT follow. But, if I use the delete script up in the task bar, I have no problems.
Jack Noll, spent several hours trying to help me solve the problem to no avail. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling ebase and using backups, no change. But, a copy, when installed on another computer works fine. I'm assuming I've got some problem with Windows on the PC that ebase is currently installed on.
