>1. I am based in Australia-we have a different date system to North America
in that we write dates dd/mm/yy rather than mm/dd/yy as you do-is it easy to
change this on ebase and if so how?

FileMaker has facilities for changing date formats. But you would need a
copy of FileMaker to make the changes. All quite straight forward but
tedious because there are lots of date fields.

>2. Our phone number system is also different. We have a two digit area
code usually followed by an eight digit number as in 08 89815433.
 Again -how is this changed in ebase?

This would also require some customization as ebase currently does fairly
heavy checking for US/Canadian style phone numbers.

>3. Having downloaded ebase successfully I wanted to transfer it to my
laptop computer-I did this by burning it to a CD and then loading onto the
laptop. However ebase opens on the laptop but will not let me access it-am
I doing something wrong?

This is trivial. When you copy a CD the files all wind up with the R/O
attribute set. You need to set the attributes back to R/W which is easily
done in either Windows or DOS. In Windows navigate to the right directory
where the .10x files live; Select all; right click and select properties;
turn off the R/O flag; and OK.
