You should be able to open the ebase v1.03 files using the runtime 
application provided with the download. This won't give you access to 
all the FileMaker functionality, but it will at least give you the 
ability to see what ebase looks like.

I think other correspondents to this list have tried opening ebase 
with the trial version without much success. I don't remember what 
the issues are, but there is some limitation of the trial version - 
too many files open or some such - that makes it impossible to see 
the whole picture.

Version 1.02 isn't available from the ebase site. You might be able 
to find someone who has an archive copy, but your best bet is to 
upgrade to FMP 5.
