Dave,
I did what you suggested and it cleared up *all* the problems
(1), (2), and (3) below. I can't thank you enough since we have a
major campaign mailing tomorrow.
I tried the same fix for (4) below, and it didn't work. (All
still blank in Preview and Print for Household labels.)
However, in the process of copying and pasting the text block of
Household Loaded to Household I noticed that there was a Title Part in
the Household layout. I deleted the Title Part, and voila there were
labels in Household Preview and Print.
You say this is a short-term fix. Is some follow up needed? What
happened to the deleted text-blocks that were pasted over from the
loaded labels?

I can't see what would be causing the set of problems below, but I
suggest a short-term fix. If, as you say, the "loaded" labels work
OK, copy the text block from the loaded labels and paste it onto the
standard 30/page label layout, replacing what's there. This is the
text block that reads
<<NAME LINE\LABEL>>
<<BUSINESS\ORGANIZATION>>
<<ADDRESS LINE\LABEL>>
<<CITY LINE>>
The "loaded" part of the layout is the Expiration Date and Record
Number, and they are on separate text blocks. If the problem persists
after this, the
problem is with the calculated fields or the data
