In using the find commands I can use any operators for the search except for "" - the one to search for literal text. It doesn't matter which field or window I do a search for literal text in, it gives me a window entitled 'there's an error in the file "<unknown>"' and the error text is that this file is damaged. Click continue to continue using this file or click exit to exit FM. Consult FM manual for information on recovery.
I know you're not supposed to use the recovery file. I made the assumption that it was a FileMaker problem not any of the ebase files and tried opening ebase with filemaker from another machine and got the same error so it's clearly an ebase problem. I can put in any kind of alternate search criteria, use and's, or's, or any combination of operators. But the second I ask it to find literal text in any field it gives me that error. Any suggestions? Thanks!
