Jon,
I'd like to try the rollback option if I could. How do I start?

Holly-

As previous gurus have posted to this list, even if the recover process
suceeds, there can be subtle problems lingering in the files, and it's
not recommended to continue using them.

You may need to call in a Filemaker guru (there are plenty on this
list!) to help you pull this off.

Then, I'd strongly recommend putting in place a backup process that
backs up your data EVERY NIGHT. You can also use "rollback" software
such as GoBack (included in the current version of Norton Utilities
2002) that can let you revert a machine to an earlier moment in time
(such as the second before it crashed). We can help you with that, if
you like.

best,
jon

I need to try to recover because of course my backup is about seven
months late.

Catherine-

This is a great time to restore your ebase folder from your backup --
hopefully you have a recent one. Once an ebase file becomes damaged, it
can be hard to recover.

best,
jon

I was adding names to my database when I got an illegal procedure
message and the program was closed. When I went to open it it could not
open the names file because it was damaged. I tried to recover the file
like it said but I still get nowhere, HELP!
