Can someone explain to me how the fields "Segment" and "segment name" function?
You can use the segmentation to get various
snapshots of about your
constituents. You can also use
segmentation to analyze the
results of your fundraising and activist
campaigns. There's more
information on what the various codes mean in Chapter 11 of the Admin
manual.
