When I tried to get back into Ebase I got a >message that said "file command is damaged and can not be opened. Use the >recover command to start this file." Can anyone help me with this. I don't >know what this message is refering to and now I can't do any work in >Ebase. >
The message is referring to the FileMaker Recover process. If you are using FileMaker, not the runtime application, you'll find it as the last item on the File Menu. BUT... This process leaves errors behind. The short answer to your situation is to abandon your current file set and revert to last night's backup. If your backup is much older than that you can run the recover process to gain access to the file long enough to extract the data and transfer the data to your most recent backup. The process has been discussed in detail on this list several times - search the archives for "recover" or something similar to find the threads dealing with it. -- -- Dave Shaw H4 Consulting tel: 206-954-7526 fax: 206-625-1338 ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
