There's another part of your question that should be there, "Can I 
get versions of Eudora earlier than 5.01?" Developers don't like to 
make superseded software available. I just looked over the Eudora web 
site, and there's no obvious way to find versions previous to 5.01.

You can get the built-in email capability of ebase version 2 (if 
that's what you mean by converting) by acquiring the email plug-ins 
that v2 uses. You'll have to work out your own interface - fields for 
from: to: subject: etc., but that's not too tough once you catch on 
to how it works.

If you use ebase to send mail only, you can continue to use your 
current email address, and your current email client to receive your 
daily load of mail.
