Either way, but you need to be using FileMaker if you want to modify the letter layouts. Some of the letter layouts contain a merge field named gLetter. When you type the text from scratch or select it from an existing source code the text ends up in this field and on the letter. You can also use FileMaker to open the letter layout directly and edit the text on the layout. From the home screen, go to Layout mode, then on the layout menu in the upper left above the rolodex icon, select one of the letter layouts. You'll be able to add text, graphics, standard fields and merge fields from there. You can add additional letter layouts, but they won't be integrated into the output process as the first 10 are. Probably easier to use only the 10 standard layouts.
