No, it's probably just taking the small subset of ebase users with OS 
X some time to figure out what might be happening.

The first thing that strikes me is that Classic mode is having 
trouble communicating with OS X to get the value of Creator Name for 
the auto-enter field Added By. I'd be interested in hearing from 
other version 1 users on OS X about this issue.

The names, payments, contacts and other files have the same field, 
with an auto-enter value, but do not specify that it's a required 
value. You could take a look at the Add By fields in new records in 
these other files (on the All Fields layout) to see if it's blank.

In the short term, you could change the specification of the Add By 
field to remove the Required Value spec.
