OK, I get it now. 10,000 records should take a little while, but not 2 hours. What file type are you exporting to? Did you select all fields? If so, you might try selecting only those fields that need to be imported into your target file (i.e. only text, number, date, time fields, not calculations.) If I remember right, there are some calcs in that file that may be putting out very very long calc text fields (in FMP text fields aren't limited to the usual 256 chars. - they can be up to 64K chars.).
BTW, why are you exporting to an intermediate file instead of just importing directly from the .100 file to the .103 file?
