In FileMaker, search criteria (as well as import & export lists, page 
setup, and sort order) can be embedded in a script. Create a script 
with the step Perform Find and check the option to restore find 
requests to capture the last search performed. More detail on this in 
the Filemaker user manual.

Ebase version 1.02 and 1.03 include a series of custom find scripts 
and a layout from which you can choose them. You perform the find, 
open one of the scripts and edit it to save the search just 
performed. You can change the label attached to the button that calls 
that script on the custom find page to something relevant. Details 
are in Chapter 12 of the ebase Admin manual.
