>Help. I am trying to send email thru ebase.

You don't say whether you are using version 1 or version 2. From what
you say below about setting the hosts, it looks as if you are using
version 2 (even though you're on the version 1 list).

>1- I do not see an "email Login"

In the POP3it configure dialog box is where you set the email userid
and password, as well as the host. You get there by selecting the
menu item Edit>Preferences>Application and clicking the Plug-ins tab.
Select the POP3it plugin and click the Configure button.

The SMTP3it configure dialog asks for the host and the address of the
email account you are using with ebase.

>2- When i try to check or even send email it says "error:open
>connection:could not connect:connection timed out"

The message is that ebase can't establish a connection between your
computer and your Internet Service Provider, probably because it
doesn't know your id and password. Get that set right in the plugin
configuration dialogs and it should work.

>I have set the POPHost and SMPTHost to (hopefully) the correct addressed.
>Our company uses Eudora for email if that makes any difference.

You have to set the login and password to enable the connection
between ebase and those host machines. With version 2 it doesn't
matter what email client you use. Ebase uses the email plugins to
send and receive email directly without using an email program like
Eudora.

>And if it isn't obvious I am very new to this ebase. And our organization
>is trying to see how well this program works.

Configuring email is one of the most difficult tasks involved in
setting ebase up. Good luck.
