Since Query just uses Find, there is no "best method".

Anything you can do with one you can do with the other, except that the
layouts in Query give easier access to some fields making it easier to do a
particular query. You may have to do multiple Finds to get the same results
of a single Query. Since some fields are indexed and some are not, either
Query or Find can result in slow performance. Unless you look at the
definitions of the fields, you just have to learn by experience, which
fields to use if you are in a hurray and which to avoid. For some queries
you can't easily avoid using the unindexed fields.
