Hi,

I am having a problem importing into 1.03 from 1.02 (for eventual import
into 2.02). We have the run-time version of 1.02, and only about 200 names
on a Windows 2000 machine (actually brought over by Zip Disk from Windows
98 on another computer). Here's my problem: I followed the instructions
in the manual to the letter, and things were going fine until I reached the
point in the import (p.3-6) where it says "15. From the pull down menus
choose File->Define Fields". "Define Fields" does not appear in my
pull-down menu, and I therefore can't figure out how to tell ebase what the
next record number should be in 1.03. I tried adding a name without doing
that step, and it gave me a record number that was already used--so I
trashed that version, downloaded a clean version and did it all over
again--and decided to ask. What do I do, and why doesn't that option
appear in my menu?

I can't find a way to search the archives anymore from the web site, so I
apologize if this question has been asked already.

Thanks

Sally Zaino
