Member status is dynamic. It is the status of the latest dues payment, based on the duration and grace period defined in the setup wizard. So, no history is kept unless you do something outside the box like Walt describes. One way to get an approximate snapshot for a particular instant is to search for dues payments between the desired date and a year previous (or whatever your membership period is. For current members as of 1/1/02, search for payments marked Dues between 1/1/01...1/1/02.
