I presume that you are putting this effort into it because you don't have a recent backup. That's the obvious answer, abandon this file set and revert to your backup.I can access contact_.103 fine on the host computer. When I try to access it on a remote computer, it gives me the error message "Filemaker Pro has performed an illegal operation" and shuts down. I've been working with the Filemaker Pro people on it and they have determined that the file contact_.103 is corrupted. We tried to export the records to a clean copy of the file but I can't keep it open long enough to complete the export. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I need to do to save my file?
You haven't said whether you tried FileMaker's recover procedure. That won't necessarily fix the file, but it often gives you access so you can import the data into a clean file. If you do get access and transfer the data, you want to move data from all the ebase files, not just the contact_.103 file. That way you're sure there isn't damage in other files, and the data is all in sync.
