I'm using FM Pro 5.5 with Mac System X and ebase 1.03 and an etherlink network.

I recently started using System X. FM Pro 5.5 will run in either System 9 or X so I reinstalled it in X.

I had it setup in System 9 so that anyone starting it could simply click on an icon on their desktop. The server with the files was left running full-time.

Now in System X, it appears that it won't start up that way. One must each time start up FM Pro 5.5, then File/Open/Hosts, then select the file ebase_.103. Then, inexplicably, it doesn't find zip_.103, even though it's in the same folder as all the other files, so one must tell it where to find that. That's a lot of separate mouse clicks and keystrokes for the unsophisticated users in our organization....a whole lot more complicated than just clicking an icon on their desktop.

Any suggestions out there in eBase land?

Thanks,
Paul
