Dear SAFENTRIX Registrant:
Greetings!
This email is to inform SAFENTRIX users of a new
features that has been added. One of the ways SAFENTRIX protects its users from
SPAM is by using Realtime Blacklisting. As per this, a database of email servers
that consistently
send
- SPAM,
- Virus,
or
- Backscatter,
is maintained. Once such emails cross a threshold as
a percentage of total emails from these servers, the server is Blacklisted and
emails from these servers are rejected.
Currently,
- Algorithm to blacklist is conservative, and
blacklists only the worst
offenders.
- Administrators can Whitelist their email servers
following a simple
process.
This is normally fine in most cases. However, we have
encountered cases wherein the Administrator is unwilling/unable to follow the
whitelist process. This leads to problems for end
users.
A typical case would be as
follows:
- Sender is using a shared email server hosted by
an external provider and uses domain
'a.com'.
- The email server also serves SPAMmer who is
using
'b.com'.
- Emails from the genuine sender are rejected as
IP is
blacklisted.
- Administrator of the shared Email server is
unwilling/unable to Whitelist the
IP.
In this case, the user of domain 'a.com' would be
unable to send emails to SAFENTRIX causing problems for the recipient. To solve
this problem, SAFENTRIX has added a new feature wherein Individual senders can
be whitelisted. Once this simple process is completed, emails from the sender to
the recipient are not blocked. This helps senders get over problems created by
other users of a Shared server. You can find more details in the following
links:
- Sender Whitelist
page.
- Procedure for
Whitelisting.
- Administrator Whitelist
Page.
This will make SAFENTRIX more reliable and easier to
use. We take this chance to thank you for your patronage of SAFENTRIX Services.
We welcome your feedback and if there is anything we can do to improve
SAFENTRIX, please feel free to let us
know.
Thanking you,
SAFENTRIX Accounts Maintenance
